Peini...

once told me that she had to throw the cakes that she'd baked all the time cos her family members do not like food. (wat a waste)

i've asked if she felt it was a pity throwing it away, well i can't really rmb what her reply was. but i guess, it's a little of a pity cos there's no one to appreciate the food that you've prepared.

she told me that she really enjoys the process of baking. i guess this applies to me as well. i love the process of cooking. esp cooking for dearie. cos i noe he's the one who gives me the most support, always encouraging me to try new recipies and stuff. i love to cook, i love to prepare the food and i also love the way dearie gives his comments.

the process of cooking lets me forget everything. it's the same feeling when i run. you concentrate, you forget.

i'm still saving... saving to buy an oven, so that i can bake lotsa cookies, muffins, brownies, cakes etc for my dearie... and of course friends out there, you have a share too!!! =)

this is what i got from emode...

A degree in Business and Marketing is right for you

If there's one thing you want from your future, it's to be in charge of it. While you're happy to hear what others think, you usually have a clear plan for all of the things you want. And once you've made up your mind, it's not easy to get you off that path. You're a smooth operator who gets along well with people, but you also make sure that everyone knows exactly what you think.

oh, did i just take the wrong course??? and for ard 4 yrs aredi???

haa.. nope, i dun think so. i hope not too.

Seafood Platter

was in a cooking mood ytd. so after playing pool with dearie, we dropped by carrefour to do some grocery shopping cos i felt like cooking.

din noe what to cook, walked for a few rounds and decided to do a seafood dinner. we bought prawns, french beans, squid, scallops and dory fish as well as a bottle of wine... romantic eh?? hee...

took quite some time to prepare all the food... i do not really have the experience of cooking a seafood platter so it was mainly impromtu... luckily enuf, i din spoil the dinner with food that was yucky. luckily enuf, dearie liked it! he said that the spuid that i cooked was exactly the same was the fish n co one... i'm so proud of myself... =)

Keys

do you happen to know there's this type of canned food that uses a "key" to open??? it suppose to bring you comfort in opening canned food. however, this stupid canned food made me wana kill it and throw it into the dustbin. the metal strip broke when i was opening it half way and nothing else cld open it...

spent so much time on it... darn... i swear i'm not gonna use that kind of canned food anymore.... argh...

Importance of Sleep

something that i've got from my email again...

A man can go two weeks without eating. But if he doesn't rest at all, he can only survive for one week. Sleeping provides us the time to rest our internal organs, eyes and brains. Poor sleep quality can cause internal damage to our internal organs and brains. Therefore, sleeping is very important to us.

If you wish to have a long life and stay healthy, please take note of the advice below.

5 DON'TS when you are sleeping

DON'T SLEEP WITH WATCH
Watches can emit a certain level of radioactivity. Though small, but if you wear your watch to bed for a long time, it might have adverse effects on your health.

DON'T SLEEP WITH BRA
Scientists in America have discovered those that wear bras for more than 12 hours have a higher risk of getting breast cancer. So go to bed without it.

DON'T SLEEP WITH PHONE
Putting the phone beside your bed or anywhere near you is not encouraged. Though some of us will use phones as alarm clocks, but please put the phone as far as possible. Scientists have proved that electrical items including mobile phone and television sets emit magnetic waves when used. These waves can cause disruptions to our nervous system. Therefore if you need to put your mobile phone near you, switch it off first.
(oh no, i always sleep with my fone... i use it as an alarm... oh no oh no...)

DON'T SLEEP WITH MAKE UP
People who sleep with make up might have skin problems in the long run. Sleeping with make up will cause the skin to have difficulty in breathing and problem in perspiring. You will also need a much longer time to go into deep sleep.

DON'T SLEEP WITH OTHERS' WIFE
You may never wake up again.

Karma Test From Emode

Evelyn, in the last year you've earned 713 karma points

You've earned these points by doing good things, therefore allowing good things to circle back to you. There are 6 different ways people earn karma, and by looking at your responses to this test, we can tell that your caring nature is earning you the most karma. You seem to be one of those people who has an uncanny ability to anticipate and meet the needs of others around you. This nurturing quality has helped you earn your karma up to this point. Your thoughtfulness strengthens your current relationships, and suggests that such kindnesses will be repaid to you some time in the future. Through your concerted efforts to express how much you care, you generate good karma for yourself and the universe.

Find out the total number of karma points it's possible to earn in one year -- and how your goodness compares to others -- in your personalized Karma Reading. It's ready right now!

Happy National Day

today's Singapore's 40th b'day. however, i feel that this year's celebration thingy is somewhat different from the past years. there are less flags hanging around, less mood for this "special day".

National Day's songs are getting more and more modern. not that it's not gd that it's modern, but the taste and feel is not there anymore. i love the olden days where mrt stations palyed "one people, one nation, one singapore" etc. these songs let me feel more singaporean. hmm, dunno whether you noe what i'm trying to convey. hehe..

went to aunt's place today for a family gathering. well, nothing really interesting thou. watched "xXx: the next level" at her place. not bad a film. after that dearie and i drove around and finally ended at tcc @ NAFA. not bad a place but i still prefer the one @ boat quay. the iced yuan yang is nicer there. took some photos but haven uploaded from the computer yet. will post it up once i've uploaded the photos.

KEYS TO MY HEART

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to obedience and warmth.
In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.
You'd like to your lover to think you are loyal and faithful... that you'll never change.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was insecure and in constant need of reassurance.
Your ideal relationship is traditional. Without saying anything, both of you communicate with your hearts.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage as something that will confine you. You are afraid of marriage.
In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted.

PERSONALITY TEST

You are dignified, spiritual, and wise.

Always unsatisfied, you constantly try to better yourself.

You are also a seeker of knowledge and often buried in books.

You tend to be philosophical, looking for the big picture in life.

You dream of inner peace for yourself, your friends, and the world.

A good friend, you always give of yourself first.

SHOPPING SHOPPING

had no intention of gg orchard today. but nevertheless, dearie and i still went.

went to cineleisure for lunch. buffet lunch @ suki sushi. i love the food there. esp the sashimi. it's different from sakae sushi. sakae sushi's buffet is $16.90++ from 3pm-6pm (wk days) and the u can only eat those of $1.90 value stuff. but suki sushi is different. u can eat food that range from $1.90 - $4.90 which means you can eat sashimi too!!! furthermore, the cost is the same as sakae's (additional $1 on wkends) and the buffet time is 12pm to 5.30pm.

i ate so much i felt like a glutton. included are chawanmushi, kajikitoro sashimi, salmon sashimi (the sashimi is really gd, esp the kajikitoro and the salmon. it's really fresh and the serving is not bad), yakitori, eclair, fried tofu, salmon sushi, ebiko inari, salmon handroll, kani tempura, shitakae tempura so much more that i can't remember. but you can see that i'm a glutton already... but there are so much more that i din eat today... was too full liao.

after lunch dearie and i walked around orchard. wasn't in a mood to go shopping cos i was feeling really tired (due to e bloody morning make up class). was on our way back, passed by future state @ wisma when i saw that all tops were selling @ $9 and bottoms @ $12!!! wow!!! so i went in and managed to find 2 tops both my size. wat a bargain! one top was originally priced $23 and the other $39. wow wow wow...

dropped by moshi moshi and found a b'day present for sherlaine. gd, all things done. all things except my tutorials... *sigh*

was attending the ever boring structures II lecture when suddenly Irvin turned to me and told me, "hey, this sem's modules are your 'forte', you might be able to make it to the dean list!!!" haa... i din expect anyone would ever told me that.

my goal in ntu... few c's, no d's, no e's and no f's... i'll be grateful, so grateful. i don't want to put so much stress on myself. i noe things are diff now. not like when i'm in poly where the world revolves around me. no more. no more such stuff. there are things i'll always not noe how to do. there are things that are incompletable. there are modules that i'll never do well. there are just some things.
