What does Love mean??

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?"

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love."
Rebecca- age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth."
Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other."
Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs."
Chrissy -age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired."
Terri - age 4

"Love is when my mummy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK."
Danny - age 7

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mummy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss"
Emily - age 8

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen."
Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,"
Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka's on this planet)

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday."
Noelle - age 7

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well."
Tommy - age 6

"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling.? He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore."
Cindy - age 8

"My mummy loves me more than anybody . You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."
Clare - age 6

"Love is when Mummy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken."
Elaine-age 5

"Love is when Mummy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford."
Chris - age 7

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day."
Mary Ann - age 4

"I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones."
Lauren - age 4

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an imagination)
Karen - age 7

"Love is when Mummy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross."
Mark - age 6

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."
Jessica - age 8

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbour was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbour, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry"

Gooodbye Batam...

3 full days of relaxation with dearie... Wow, damn i love it... The resort's lovely, service is excellent, and the food is delicious (although it's abit costly)!!!

The resort has a lot of facilities... They've got jet ski, banana boat, fishing, bowling, parasailing, cable ski, paratrek light, water ski, wind rider, kayak, gokart, table tennis, tennis, gymnasium, bicycle, billard, dart, karaoke, squash, massage and lots more!!! But, dearie and i din try most of them coz they are too costly areadi... We were on a budget relaxation travel...

I really wanted to do jet ski.. but it cost $60 per half hour!!! Yup, they charge mostly in Singapore dollars there... and oh yeah, the resort's really near the jetty... So what dearie and i did was played pool, billard, swim, massage and went for the city "tour".

There are two shopping centers in this so called "city". It's actually located in Nagoya. The two shopping centers are called Lucky Plaza and Center Point. Nothing really much to shop there thou... Dearie and i ended up buying DVDs back to Sg...

Oh yeah, the massage... it was wonderful, but a bit awkard... We had to strip all the way to our panties (briefs for dearie). Initially we thot it was ok cos we're gonna be covered and faced down anyway. But we were wrong, so so wrong... In the middle of the massage, they actually asked us to turn over... I felt so awkard with my body exposed to that lady... I thot this was the end of my embarrasement... yeah, thot... But i was WRONG!!! Towards the end of the massage, we were asked to sit up. So my whole body's practically exposed to that lady!!! Okay, no more complaints... Ahem.. Here's my conclusion.. Although awkard, although embarrassing, the massage is goood, damn gooood!!!

The things dearie and i enjoyed best... the awkard massage, the swim, the food, all most of all, the cuddles in bed watching HBO, Channel 5, Channel U, Channel 8.. Oh well, TV... =)

Seven Wonders

A group of students were asked to list what they thought were the present "Seven Wonders of the World." Though there were some disagreements, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt's Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peter's Basilica
7. China's Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that on equiet student hadn't turned in her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list.

The girl replied, "Yes, a little. I couldn't quite make up my mind because there were so many." The teacher said, "Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help." The girl hesitated, then read, " I think the 'Seven Wonders of the World' are:

1. to see
2. to hear
3. to touch
4. to taste
5. to feel
6. to laugh
7. and to love."

The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop. The things we overlook as simple, ordinary and take for granted are truly wondrous!

A gentle reminder - that the most precious things in life... cannot be built by hand... or... bought by man.

Msg for gals...

I saw this on the friendster bulletin...

Bananas are good for period pain

Its good to cry

Chicken soup actually makes you feel better

94% of boys would love it if you sent them flowers

Lying is actually unhealthy

Only apply mascara to your top lashes

Its actually true, boys DO insult you when they like you!

Its impossible to apply mascara with your mouth closed!

89% of guys want YOU to make the 1st move

Chocolate will make you feel better!

Most boys think its cute when you say the wrong thing.

A good friend never judges.

A good foundation will hide hickeys!..

Boys are worth your tears

(Hmm, boys are worth my tears??? Well, i guess only dearie's worth my tears...)

It's Valentine's Tmr!!!

Had a feeling that i wun be blogging on tmr, let me wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day!!! :)

Hols Are Over... Skul's Starting Again..

Hmm, i wonder how Xinyi can just love going to sch and me? trying all sorts of ways not to attend sch... I've been a naughty naughty gal... I've not been attending sch since mon morning after my lab class. Not only that, i've influenced my buddies not to attend too... *oh, bad evelyn*

Oh man, i'm starting classes at 0830 tmr!!! What a pain in the arse... Which means i have to get up at 0630!!! Argh! What makes it worse is that i've got 2 quizzes this week; one of Tuesday (Water Resources Engg), and the other on Thursday (Geotechnical Engg)... Damn i hate sch... Well, actually, not really... i love going to sch cos i love seeing my frens, esp my buddies... We talk about anything in the world... You may think it's bitchy, but i just love it... :)

The only excuse of not doing homework this week is supposed to be i'm enjoying my CNY celebrations so much that i've got no time to do it. But, i'm not really enjoying my celebrations. Most of my CNY week, i was slacking @ dearie's place... sleeping, surfing & watching tv.. haha... so PIG!!! Now i'm so upset, i've got loads and loads of tutorials waiting to be cleared with a no motivation evelyn here trying to find excuse not to clear them... *boo hoo*

Oh yeah, had a fun outing thou, that was on fri. Dearie and i met up with Brina, Terence and Zijian. First we went to Lucky Chinatown to sing karaoke, after which we had lunch at the Majestic. We went to Ma Lan La Mian to have our lunch, which was at around 4pm already. Our last stop for that day was Tea Chapter located at Chinatown. We stayed till around 11pm. Tea Chapter, due to the fact that it was New Year, they had this game. In chinese, it's called "zhi mi", where they give you some hints and you have to guess the word or that cheng yu out. Once you get it correct, you can order a dessert. The whole time we were there, we actually claimed around 25 desserts!!! It's so embarrasing cos it's like you're so kiasu... But i really had alot of fun........

Vroooooom

Vrooooooooom.......... I had my first driving lesson today. Dearie drove to Marina South to let me have my first driving lesson. Haa... It was fun, although i only drove a while...

hehe... not a while lah. We drove for an hr plus, with dearie teaching me how to U-turn, change gear (haha, from gear 1 to 2), reverse, turning and finally how to drive up to the kerb.. It's really fun, but my right ankle's aching cos i din dare to step on the accelerator too much. However, it wasn't fun when i stalled the car, cos i had to start all over again... A few times of jerky, bumpy ride, soon i was happily turning and turning in the carpark.

Surprise, surprise... We've got company... We were not the only ones who used the big empty carpark for training... Haa, great minds think alike...

I really enjoyed myself. Think this is the most enjoyable thing that i've done this new year... CNY visits are soooo boring (apart from the collection of ang baos... hehe)...

Gambling's Not Good For You

Pple seeing this might be thinking i'm trying to preach here. But no, it's because i lost money in gambling yesterday. My cousin was lucky... Dearie said he has the "fu qi" look, that's why he, being the banker, still won... Oh well, wish me luck for the next few games... If i happen to be gambling again...

Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year to everyone!!! May you get lotsa ang baos this year.... I do hope i get lotsa ang baos too... hehe

Yesterday, dearie and i went to River Hong Bao and bumped into Weirong & gf. We were intending to stay there till countdown... But then, when we reached there, we felt that the place was really boring. I have no idea why, these festive seasons aren't influencing me at all. I feel like it's just another day.

Dearie and i were amazed with the increase in price in everything! esp the games and the rides. Each token used to be $2 but this year, it increased to $2.50. 50 cents may not seem a lot, but when you accumulate it later, you'll realised how expensive things are now. Kiddy rides need at least 2 tokens. Can you imagine??? Those games where you play to win prizes require tokens now. It used to be $2 per game, but now it has increased to 2 tokens per game. Although dearie wanted me to play some of the games, i wasn't willing cos i think the cost is really steep. And from past experience, i always ended with some water gun which i would not want to bring home in the end. So, yeah, that's it...

Left that place @ 2330. Can't take it anymore.. The crowd's giving me a headache... When we alighted from the bus, it was midnight! Bomm Boom... Went the fireworks... They were not as beautiful as the one they put during national day. Those were fantastic!

Today's first day of Lunar New Year, wat do you pple have in mind?? Me? Today's abit rushy for me. Early morning after saying happy new year to my mother, we left to dearie's place... Later, we'll be going to my aunt's place, and lastly to my cousin's place... It's gonna be a tiring day....

Red Alert! Red Alert!!

There's this stupid thing that i've done that made dearie superbly mad at me. I'm so sorry dearie... =(

CNY Shopping

How's your shopping? As far as i'm concerned, i'm pretty done with it (well, i have to).. Two new tops, both bought from Far East Shibuya & Future State. Nope, no bottoms, can't seem to find one that i can fall in love with.

Top No. 1: My first purple top from Shibuya to match my purple undergarments.. *grin* I've decided to match it with my faded black jeans which has now become gray colour all thanx to my mom...

Top No. 2: My first pink top from Future State, Oh man, no pink undergarments to match with.. hehe.. It's a spaghetti top with cheong sam buttons that emphasize CNY... I shall match it with my relatively new off white Mango jeans...

That's it! That's what i bought for CNY...

Now let's put the limelight on my evadearez, my dearie... Initially, he didn't want to get any tops cos we sort off gave up shopping for his clothes. Nothing seems to be perfect enough for him. But (yeah, the "but" thingy) this four letter word attracted my attention, and guess what ladies?? our fav... SALE!!! Forward Statment was having a sale, a 70% off sale!!!

Picked a colourful pin-stripped shirt.. Looks great on him!!! In the end, we left the shop with two T-shirts, one shirt, & one sleeveless that totalled to an amount of $71.50... Isn't is worth it (i mean, for guys clothes??)

That's the only thing i enjoy, shopping for dearie.. There's another thing i enjoy, dearie shopping for me... lalalala...

TV + SCV + DVD player + Nice Stereo Set + Computer + Internet - Moving House = A Happy Evelyn =)

Dearie shifted. Now the whole house's in a BIG MESS. There are boxes everywhere, things unpacked, and we are celebrating New Year with this mess! Well, there's pros and cons about shifting thou. We're nearer town now, it only takes about 15 mins to get to town. The central is filled with my fav restaurants: Starbucks (Coffee, coffee, coffee), MOS Burger (Chicken Teriyaki Burger, Fries, Rice Burger, Milk Tea, Ice Lemon Tea, Minestrone Soup, MOS Burger), Crystal Jade Palace (Beef Brisket Noodles, Shanghai Xiao Long Bao), Pasta Mania (Creamy Chicken Linguine, Beef Bolognaise Linguine, Hawaiian Pizza, Ham & Mushroom Pizza, Mariana Linguine), Fiesta (Cheese Cake - the original flavour) and many more... Looks like my "slimming" plan isn't going to succeed @ the rate i'm eating (esp with CNY in just a few days time!!)

Dearie's place is about 10 mins walk from the MRT station. Although i still miss the old place @ Tanah Merah alot cos they have lotsa great food there as well, this new place seems ok... It's pretty breezy without the need of a fan and it's got really nice Ba Chor Mee downstairs which we have to wait @ least 15 mins for it. Dearie's mummy said that the chicken rice downstairs taste pretty gd as well. Hmm, must try it one of these days... Haha... greedy me... *grin*

Updates!!! Finally

Hmm.. It's been a really long time since i've blogged on... Sorry, regular readers, will try to update this more often... Within this period of time, many things happened, gd ones and bad ones... So, i believe you must have guessed that this is gonna be a long entry... Well, seperate short entries...

Before i start this dunno how long blog, dearie and i wish everyone reading this a Happy Chinese New year!!! May you get lotsa ang baos this year!!! =)

Flight Of The Pheonix
Caught this show with dearie today @ Cineleisure... I think it was quite a nice show but dearie thot otherwise.. Any comments on this one???
